There is a lot to love about the holidays – seeing family; enjoying parties and gatherings; the lovely lights on trees, buildings and houses and the excited anticipation in the faces of
But for my money, nothing surpasses the beautiful music. The Point Roberts Community Choir has been working since October to prepare the best Christmas concert ever. This year’s concert is called “Gloria!” and features both classic and modern pieces. It will be a wonderful evening with music for everyone and the annual reception after the concert? Yum! Get there early for a good seat; the church will be full to bursting for this concert. Mark your calendar now for Saturday, December 20 at 7 p.m.
For something extra this year, the Point Roberts Quilters have made a lovely large lap quilt in blues and greens and donated it for a raffle to raise money toward the Children’s Music Camp. It was made as a group project and then hand-quilted by Judy Ross. Raffle tickets are on sale Sunday mornings after the service in the church social hall, where the quilt is on display. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. Come by, purchase your tickets and have a cup of coffee or tea. The winning entry will be drawn at the concert and the winner need not be present. If you would like a ticket and cannot come by the church, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get tickets.
This year’s Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be Wednesday, December 24 at 7 p.m. and the Christmas Day service will be held at 11 a.m. These services serve to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas, and offer moments of peace and reflection – a break in the hustle and bustle of the season.
Everyone at Trinity wishes you a wonderful holiday season as you each celebrate family, friends and love in your own way. May the blessings of peace and joy be with all of you. As Tiny Tim would say, “God bless us, every one!”
