The Point Roberts Saturday Market at the community center wrapped up for the year with the Labor Day weekend, but organizers are planning to move inside for a Harvest Art, Craft and Collectible Fair.
“I figured it would be something fun to do over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend,” said organizer Jessica McVey.
The Saturday, October 10 event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main room and hallway of the Gulf Road community center, while the Friends of the Point Roberts Library will hold a book sale in the poolroom. Vendors can rent a table for $10 and those proceeds will go to the new library building fund, as will the proceeds of the book sale, and a bake sale. “If anyone wants to bring baked goods they can Friday night from 4 to 7 p.m. or Saturday before 10 a.m.,” McVey said. “We just ask that they’re wrapped and ready to go.”
Vendors can include “nice collectible items and any art or craft,” McVey said. So far a dozen vendors have signed up offering jewelry, garden art, beauty products, quilts, collectibles, dream-catchers and photography. There are tables available for up to 17, and interested vendors can contact McVey at 945-0409 to reserve one. Vendors can also sign up for the Christmas Gift Fair, scheduled for December 5 and 6 at the community center.
