Organizers of the Holiday Gift Faire are embracing a new format this year, with the event welcoming vendors of high quality collectibles as well as handmade and locally produced items.
The annual event is also an important fundraiser and this year will benefit the Point Roberts Historical Society and the Point Roberts library building fund.
Proceeds from table rentals and a raffle will be divided between the two groups.
Jessica McVey said they were looking for vendors, as well as donations for the raffle. “Applications for vendors are available at the Blue Heron Gallery from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday,” she said, and the table fee is $25 per table, $20 if you bring your own and $15 for a card table. McVey said the event will take up both rooms at the Gulf Road community center and she hopes to accommodate up to 30 vendors.
McVey said she is also looking for volunteers to help decorate the community center on December 3. “There will be ladders and climbing and stringing things, so help would be great,” she said.
Volunteers or donors for the raffle can contact McVey at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 945-0409.
The event will run Saturday, December 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and December 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The local senior’s association will have lunch for sale with proceeds to support their programs.
