Christmas decoration sale benefits tower coalition

Thanks to a large donation of Christmas decorations, Auntie Pam’s Country Store is holding a fundraising sale to raise funds to pay off the legal bills from the fight to stop a radio tower farm being built on the Point.

Hundreds of decorations from hand-carved wooden angels to LED lights are being sold for a few dollars and all proceeds will go to the Cross Border Coalition to Stop the Radio Towers.

The coalition was celebrating victory on December 1 after BBC Broadcasting elected to stop appealing a Whatcom County denial of their application to build an array of five towers on the corner of Tyee Drive and McKenzie Way, but the two-year fight cost the group a quarter million dollars, and it still has almost $20,000 to pay off.

The sale will be on until all of the decorations are sold.
