The Point Roberts water district had a scanty seven new connections to the water system in 2015.
“This was the slowest year since I’ve worked here,” said district manager Dan Bourks, who has been with the district more than 20 years.
Water sales, however, were higher than anticipated, thanks to a drier than usual spring and summer. Bourks said sales were up approximately $60,000 from 2014 for the May/June billing period and $10,000 for the June/July period. “We pumped maybe 10 million gallons more overall,” he said.
