The Point Roberts Parks and Recreation District has decided to take weeding and landscape maintenance off its plate and hire someone to do it.
While the district has paid for lawn care in the past, weeding, pruning and other landscaping has been left to commissioners.
“Looking for bids for 2016 we need to expand what they cover to include the landscaped areas around the community center,” said Mary Edgley.
Bids to provide the service for the coming year need to be submitted to PRParks@pointroberts.net prior to March 12.
Services at Baker Field and at the community center would include lawn mowing, weed removal and trimming of borders where grass meets concrete, blowing of grass clippings and leaves off any concrete surfaces, weeding and general maintenance of gardens in front of the community center. Bids should include anticipated frequency of services and fees.
