The Point will be bustling this weekend, with garage sales everywhere and a solid roster of events at the community center.
The Saturday Morning Market will get underway on Saturday on the east side of the community center under the trees. Vendors include garden art, photography, personal care, artwork, collectibles, quilts and fabric art. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More vendors are welcome for $5 a spot, and those interested can contact Jessica McVey at 945-0409 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Circle of Care, the Point Roberts home care initiative, will be part of the market this year, raising funds to help local residents stay in their homes as their need for care increases. The group will be selling coffee, tea and baked goods, and hope to add popcorn.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Friends of the Point Roberts Library will hold their used book sale in the community center. “We’ll have all sorts of books for sale inside both days, rain or shine: fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, craft books, and VHS, DVD, and CDs too! Maybe even a few board games,” said librarian Rose Momsen.
Circle of Care will also host a boot sale in the community center parking lot on Sunday. Participants can just drive into the east parking lot and pay $5 to sell whatever they have to offer.
