Taxpayers’ AGM

At the Point Roberts Taxpayers’ Association annual general meeting on June 23, poorly attended due to last minute scheduling changes, board member John Lesow proposed the association join with the registered voters association create a united front pushing local interests. ‘It’s not unprecedented,” he said, “Remember the old Point Roberts Community Association?” The association did not take action on the proposal.

Association members also reviewed the status of issues the board has been pursuing over the last year, from the sewer proposal to the proposed television tower. “It looks like the tower has become a non-issue,” said Michael Rosser, pointing out that the project proponent Leslie Agron has filed for bankruptcy.Lesow decided not to run again as a Point Roberts Taxpayers association board member and was succeeded by new board member Doug Ritchie. President Kelley Lyne and treasurer Larry Crosseti were reelected to their positions and Knick Pyles and Kent Craig were acclaimed as alternates.
