OBITUARIES

Leslie Lloyd Slater
April 17, 1921 - June 21, 2002
Passed away peacefully in the arms of Alice, his bride of 55 years and his beloved girl, Fern. Survived by sister Beverly, brother Vernon and a very special boy named Sue and a little girl Alex, along with many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Les worked on the waterfront for many years and belonged to Local 514. He was a volunteer firefighter in the Point Roberts volunteer fire department and was also very involved with the Point Roberts Senior Center. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 14 at 2 p.m. at 1406 Peltier Drive, Point Roberts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leslie’s memory to the Point Roberts Fire Department. Leslie will be greatly missed as he was a kind and gentle man.



John Richard Horan
June 10, 1915 – May 30, 2002
John was married for 60 wonderful years to Marjorie. They were spent travelling the world for the U.S. State Department. John retired after 32 years, and then spent the next 20 years working for U.S. Immigration in Victoria and Point Roberts.

John had five children, Richard (deceased), Elizabeth, Margaret (deceased), Philip and Kathleen, and eight grandchildren, Sean, Jessica, Richard, Lisa, Timothy, Ryan, Christopher and Nicholas.
A memorial service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Point Roberts on Saturday, June 8...
