Stand up and be counted!

Point Roberts Chamber of Commerce members will be looking for three new directors at their annual general meeting on November 6. The chamber’s seven-person board meets monthly for lunch with guest speakers and to plan events and respond to community concerns. “If you care about how your business is doing and the economic climate in Point Roberts you need to get involved. It’s harder to get things accomplished from the sidelines,” said chamber director Louise Mugar.

The meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Marina Club, will also include discussion of the past year’s accomplishments and look forward to bus service for Point Roberts with guest speakers Joan Roberts and Rick Gordon from the Whatcom Transportation Authority. “It’s a great opportunity to get together with other business people to share our concerns and come up with new ideas,” said Mugar. .
