SHERIFF'S REPORT
September
22: Sheriff responded to the report of a criminal trespass
in the 200 block of James Road. Complainant said her family returned
home and discovered an individual hiding in a bedroom closet.
Suspect was contacted by deputies and arrested for criminal trespass
1st and returned to a parent.
September 20: Sheriff responded to the 400 block of Tyee
Drive for a trespass report. The store managed asked that a male
customer be trespassed from his store. The manager reported that
the male intimidated the employees, and is possibly stealing.
No threats were made by the male suspect. He was contacted and
given a trespass warning. He stated that he understood.
September 19: Sheriff responded to the 400 block of Tyee
Drive for a trespass report. It was reported that a customer was
disruptive while in the business. The customer argued about paying
for coffee. The employee asked that the customer be trespassed
from the business. The customer was contacted and given a trespass
warning. The customer stated that he understood.
September 19: Sheriff responded to the 400 block of Tyee
Drive for a trespass report. An individual witnessed a male driving
who was suspended from doing so. Sheriff obtained a statement
from the witness. The male was later contacted at his residence
and issued a citation for driving while license suspended. He
signed the citation and was made aware of his court date.
September 17: Sheriff responded to the report of a civil
problem in the 1300 block of Gulf Road. Complainant said that
the contents of her rented storage locked had been removed and
given away. Deputies contacted the company renting the storage
locker and determined the incident to be a civil problem.
September 16: Sheriff responded to a report of a verbal
domestic in the 500 block of Boundary Bay Road. Complainant said
his ex-wife had pushed down some fence posts he had recently planted
in his yard, after yelling at him. Deputies developed no probable
cause for an arrest and determined the incident to be verbal only.
September 14: Sheriff responded to the report of a theft
in the 700 block of Simundson Drive. Complainant said his inflatable
boat and small motor were stolen from his sailboat. Complainant
later reported his stolen items had ben located, floating in the
sound and had been returned to him. He had no suspect information
and said his boat and motor were not damaged in any way.
September 4: An individual reported a hit and run that
occurred in the 400 block of Tyee Drive. The collision had occurred
several days earlier. No one saw the collision and there were
no suspects. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the
Texaco station and it was unknown how the damage was caused. The
passenger door and lower panel were damaged. Report was taken
for insurance purposes.
September 4: An individual reported that her 14-foot aluminum
boat was tied in the water at Roosevelt and Bayview. When she
checked on the boat the next day, it was missing. She was unsure
if the boat was stolen or had floated away. The stolen property
statement was read to her over the phone, in case the boat was
stolen. Canadian Customs was given a description of the boat as
a watch for. This report is for information purposes
only.
September 2: Sheriff responded to the report of a physical
domestic in the 1400 block of Gulf Road. Deputies contacted an
individual who said she had been assaulted by her husband. Deputies
developed probable cause to arrest the husband for assault 4 DVPA.
He was transported to U.S. Customs and detained until transport
could be arranged to Whatcom County Jail.
August 30: Sheriff observed a female driving on Gulf and
Tyee roads whose license was revoked. She was also observed driving
by a witness. A citation will be sent to the suspect by mail.
August 29: Homeowners in the 300 block of Mallard reported
that a mattress was dumped their property by a former landlord.
The landlord was contacted and moved the mattress. The landlord
was told to stay away from the homeowners property and given
a trespass warning...
