SHERIFF'S REPORT
August
27: WCSO took a telephone harassment complaint from a homeowner
in the 200 block of Marine Drive. The homeowner reported numerous
calls being made at all hours of the day and night. The caller
would hang up when the phone was answered or would not talk. The
homeowner used *57 to mark the calls. WCSO obtained the phone
number of the person calling from the telephone company. The caller
was advised to stop calling.
August 26: WCSO contacted a homeowner in the 1800 block
of Washington Drive, for a trespass complaint. She asked that
a former friend be trespassed from her property. The friend was
contacted and given the trespass warning. He told deputies that
he understood.
August 21: WCSO responded to the 70 block of Tyee Drive
for an NSF check report. A man working as a consultant was paid
with an NSF check in the amount of $4,000. The incident was investigated
and the report forwarded to the prosecutors office.
August 18: WCSO responded to the 1800 block of Anderson
Road for a hulk inspection of seven vehicles. The landowner reported
that the vehicles had been on the property for three years without
being moved. The hulk vehicle forms were completed and given to
the landowner.
August 17: WCSO responded to a burglary/theft report in
the 1600 block of Georgia Court. The homeowner reported that unknown
suspects entered his unlocked shed and took two mountain bikes,
valued at $3,600. There were no suspects.
August 15: WCSO responded to the 1900 block of Cedar Park
Drive for a verbal domestic. A wife and her husband were arguing
and the wife called 911. The argument was verbal and no assault
occurred. Report taken for informational purposes only.
August 12: WCSO responded to a residence in the 1400 block
of Gulf Road for an activated alarm. The building appeared secure
and no call out was available. The alarm sheet was delivered by
the deputy.
August 10: WCSO responded to a residence in the 600 block
of Mallard Drive for found explosives. The homeowner bought a
container at a garage sale. When he opened the container he found
several small packages that were marked explosives.
The items were taken by WCSO and turned over to a bomb technician
from Bellingham police department for safe destruction.
August 5: WCSO responded to the report of a domestic problem
on Quebec Way. Deputies spoke with the individuals who said they
had been in a verbal argument only. Deputies determined the incident
to be verbal only and did not develop probable cause for an arrest.
August 4: WCSO responded to a residence in the 1800 block
of Cliff Road for a death investigation. An elderly woman had
passed away from natural causes. No further action was taken.
August 4: WCSO responded to a report of a juvenile problem
on Bayview Drive. Deputies spoke with several juveniles who said
someone had assaulted the victim with a stick. The victim was
transported to a local hospital for observation. Parties involved
did not wish to pursue charges over the incident.
August 3: WCSO attempted to make a traffic stop on Roosevelt
Road and Alberta Way, when the driver fled on foot. Deputies were
able to contact the passenger, but the driver fled into Canada.
The vehicle was impounded and an investigation is ongoing.
July 26: WCSO responded to a residence in the 200 block
of Elizabeth for a runaway report. A juvenile was reported as
a runaway. She was entered into the system as a runaway. The next
day, her father contacted deputies and reported that she had been
found. She was removed from the system.
July 18: WCSO responded to the report of a theft in the
700 block of Simundson Drive. Complainant said his 2 HP was stolen
out of the back of his pickup while parked at the Marina. He had
no suspect information and requested a report be taken for insurance
purposes..
