2002 Year In Review
Trinity Lutheran Church

By Ruth Liukkonen

"Reaching out in God's love" became our vision statement early last year and highlights of that vision include intern Pastor Susan Hookham (her year ended in July) who offered worship leadership and fellowship to our congregation and to the community.

We completed restoration of the sanctuary in the spring and enjoying being part of the Point Roberts garden tour. Our wedding ministry is becoming a significant factor in our outreach, our brides love our unique church, loving atmosphere and Point Roberts setting. We have been enriched by christenings, new members and the attendance of many visitors who come to be a part of Trinity and Point Roberts. We have been saddened by the passing of Bill Reid, Millie Flaherty, Ron Nielson and a few friends of Trinity in our community, who were loved and will be remembered in our prayers.

Trinity is part of a Whatcom County cluster group of Lutheran churches and we plan to participate with the group doing workshops, bible studies and much more, which promise to enrich us and help us share our many talents with one another. We are a unique community of believers, always welcoming everyone to our family. We look forward to another year of growth and participation, sharing time, talent and possessions, gifts from our heavenly Father.

At Trinity, music is so much a part of who we are and we took great pleasure in presenting our December Festival of Music, to uplift and enrich your holiday spirit.
