Road
chief mulls future projects
When county road planners came to the Point to
talk about this summer’s maintenance schedule,
they found the community was more interested in trails and
parking than new roads. Now they’re trying to get some of
those projects on the county’s six-year road plan.

board suggests portapotties
With the acquisition of the Maple Beach tidelands from the
Whatcom Land Trust in February 2001, two long-standing Maple
Beach problems, public parking and public restrooms, became
the responsibility of the Whatcom County Council.

the community a townsite walking tour of the historical
buildings in Point Roberts, but this year with a special

Dolman
retires after 32 years
Dr. Gordon Dolman, superintendent of the Blaine school district,
retired after 32 years in education. Dolman recently spoke
with Pat Grubb of All Point Bulletin and this is what he
had to share.

I am Virginia Lester, nurse practitioner at the new Aydon
Wellness Clinic in Point Roberts. Wellness to me means we
learn as much as possible about our bodies, our surroundings,
disease prevention and health promotion. And then we work
hard and take responsibility for our good health and wellness.
Whalen’s
opens to rave reviews
It may have taken longer than what they expected but the
results are definitely worth it, according to visitors to
Stephen and Carol Fowler’s Whalen’s Beach Cafe, Wine Bar
and Country Store.
Dollars
For Scholars Recipients
A total of $11,000 in scholarships were given at the annual
Dollar For Scholars awards night at the Point Roberts Community
Center on Tuesday, June 17.

AGM set for Saturday, June 28
When the voters association came together for their annual
meeting in March, acting president Beverly Griffiths was
worried she might not get enough community members to pull
together a board of directors.
An
old-fashioned town picnic!
There will be a town wide picnic held at noon Saturday,
July 19 at Lighthouse Park.
