Dust,
oil and noise for summer, new streets by fall
“We have a well developed plan,” county road engineer Joe

community center. “It should really lift the roads up in your

Wellness center set to
open to music and speeches
“Our theme is ‘from vision to reality’,” said Pioneer group
president Brian Canfield. “We came up with that theme because
there were a lot of people with this vision working together
and now it’s become a reality." |
Board
decides against school expansion
In his report to the Blaine school district, consultant Jack
Thompson recommended against expanding the Point Roberts school.
“Too many issues, mostly economic, exist to do anything but
retain the existing program at Point Roberts at the present
time,” he wrote. |

held their spring concert ( and a fine one it was, too!)
on May 27 at the community center.

having been abducted, forced to fly
to Toronto (he flew the plane for a bit) while the kidnappers
demanded a pool and new clothes for the ape.

Trail
loop proposed
A proposed trail looping around the northwest quarter of
the Point is now being evaluated by the county for inclusion
on a list of proposals that deserve funding.

some art and then scoot off!
When Miss Molly’s farm market returns to the Texaco station
this June it will have company. The recently formed Point
Roberts Artisans’ Guild will operate a craft fair alongside
the vegetables, and Ocean Soul
will be renting motor scooters to visitors wishing to tour
the Point.

A bike rodeo is coming
The local parks department is teaming up with the fire department
and sheriff’s deputies to teach local kids how to stay safe
on their bikes.
