School buses count

The Blaine school district will count district-transported students for the state of Washington each day during the week of October 3 - 9. The district’s annual transportation revenue from the state is determined by the count. The number of students riding will impact the flow of tax dollars into the local transportation budget.

In other bus news, the district has reinstated the Point Roberts turnout bus for the year. Funds to pay for the run were taken from an unallocated budget account. Turnout runs for other areas of the district remain canceled due to state budget cutbacks.
