Point Roberts Primary School
Principal's
Welcome
Welcome back to the 2003/2004 school year. I hope you all had
a restful, fun summer vacation. The staff and myself are looking
forward to the year. Some staff changes to let you know about
is that Rita Zimbelman will be back with us full time this year,
teaching kindergarten and first grade. Mary Edgley will continue
teaching second and third grades.
We feel very fortunate to have the continued support of our parents
and community. Please feel free to visit and/or volunteer in the
school. Whether you have children in our building or not, we would
love to have your assistance. We are committed to a high standard
of excellence and know that we need your assistance to achieve
this goal. As the principal of Point Roberts, I will continue
to work with the community and school, looking for ways to continue
enhancing the growth of all our students. We will be continuing
to concentrate on the basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics,
focusing on working towards the success of our students in achieving
the goals established by the Washington State Commission on Student
Learning. Our goal is to have all of our students become productive
and responsible citizens achieving their highest potential. In
order to achieve this goal we need to work together as a team
to ensure our students the best education possible. I’m looking
forward to this exciting challenge and working with all of you.
This past summer our covered play area and office space was completed.
This will provide the students with a space to go during inclement
weather and to spread out during learning activities. Please stop
by to visit all the new and exciting improvements to our school.
Please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions, comments,
or concerns. I can be reached at the following numbers: Point
Roberts: 360/945-2223 or 360/332-0673; Blaine primary school:
360/332-1300; e-mail: nbakarich@blaine.k12.wa.us.
I’m looking forward to a great year with a super staff, student
body, and community!
