Longer
hours for NEXUS implemented
U.S. Customs
and Border Protection announces new extended hours for the NEXUS
program in Point Roberts. Effective Sunday, January 11, the southbound
NEXUS lane will be in operation from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven
days a week. Previously, the NEXUS lane was only open from 2 p.m.
to 6 p.m.
The NEXUS
program is designed to simplify border crossings for pre-approved,
low-risk travelers. It is a joint program implemented by the Canadian
border agencies, Citizenship and Immigration Canada and U.S. Customs
and Border Protection.
Citizens
and permanent residents of Canada or the United States can apply.
As a NEXUS participant, you will be able to expedite your border
crossing using a dedicated lane at the border during operational
hours.
An application
can be downloaded from the NEXUS website at www.getnexus.com,
or obtained at your local U.S. Customs and Border Protection office.
Simply follow the instructions and mail or fax the completed form
with your payment and photocopies of your original travel documents,
such as your birth certificate or passport.
