Yes, it’s that time of year again.

Fire district pulls the plug on North Whatcom
Fire & Rescue

Whatcom County Council hastily appointed former fire chief David Gellatly to one of the two vacant commissioner positions on the board of fire district #5, and he and remaining commissioner Bill Meursing wasted no time altering the department’s course.

District considering increase in water rates
Faced with the combined impact of an increase in the price of water purchased from the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) and a strengthening Canadian dollar, Point Roberts water commissioners will likely have little choice but to raise rates for 2004.
