OBITUARIES


LARRY E. SAND

Larry Sand passed away on November 25, 2003 at the age of 75. Larry was born in Anacortes, WA on May 12, 1928 to Einar and Agnes Sand and was raised in Point Roberts. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. He married his wife Edith in 1953 and they raised their four children in Blaine. He was a commercial fisherman out of Blaine and Alaska most of his life. He was at home on the sea and his boat and passed his passion on to his son Eric who is still a commercial fisherman. Larry had lived with his daughter Marjean and her husband Larry Allen in Olympia for the past four years and made friends and acquaintances in the area during this time. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Edith, son Larry Jr, grandson Lawrence Daniel and his sister Mary Lou. He is survived by his daughters Sheryl of Grayland, Marjean of Olympia and son Eric of Blaine, his brother John Sand of Blaine and his sisters Beverly and Dorothy who live in Iceland. He has 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. Services will be held at the Blaine Cemetery on December 27, 2003 at l p.m. with a gathering after at the Blaine Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Point Roberts fire department, Point Roberts Washington, 98281.
