The Blue Heron Express keeps on rolling

Calling all kids! Yes! You too, can ride the van. Check it out: We can go to the movies on discount night, every Tuesday night, at Silver City in Richmond. We go shopping in Tsawwassen, and Bellingham or Blaine, if that’s your pleasure. We can take you to the skate park for a couple of hours, or to the swimming pool. Remember: you need to have signed parental permission to cross the border, and at least two buddies with you. And you need to call the van at least Two days in advance, so we can find you a driver!

The word is beginning to get around: The Blue Heron Express is the Point Roberts Community Van, and we are here to get you where you need and want to go. Ladies: Let’s go shopping! Guys: Let’s go play! You want to go to the golf course in Bellingham? Great! We’ll take you.

We need the community to tell us what they want to do! We can take you to Whalen’s Cafe, the Dockside, Kiniski’s Reef, or the Wellness Clinic. The van is not just for long distance trips: if you are a shut-in, and want to get out into the sunshine a little bit, we can get you there. We can do a lot, and really want input from the community. Where do you want to go?

We need to get the van out into the community twice a day, six days a week. So if you see an event scheduled for a certain day, you can join with others who have the van scheduled, and you can schedule the van on the same day, for a different time!

So, if the van is going to the Winskill Aquatic center in the morning, it can also take you and some friends to Whalen’s for lunch. We can pick you up at home and take you to the Wellness Clinic, or to the post office, or the grocery store. Trips around the Point are just as important as trips across country.

In July take advantage of the discount movie night trips on Tuesday! We are doing the Point Roberts Garden Tour and the Van Dusen garden.
