Great
art at cheap, cheap prices!
by Pam
Sheppard
People all
over the Point are in anxious anticipation of this year’s annual
art auction to benefit the Point Roberts Arts Foundation. Last
year some of the paintings auctioned were worth over $2,000 and
sold for amazingly low prices.
Artists
came forth from all over western Washington, Canada and a batch
of pieces of superb quality were donated by our very own local
artists. This year’s offerings have been no less astounding.
Come on down
to preview on Saturday, March 20 at Brewster’s Restaurant and
then stay for dinner and the auction!
Festivities
begin with a six piece jazz band, cocktails and munchies at 7
p.m. with the auction commencing at 8 p.m. This year’s auction
is free, free, free!
The theme
is the roaring twenties so we’re hoping to see some wild flappers
in attendance. Zoot suits would also be in order so poke your
head into the closet and start pulling out those clothes! Funny
headbands and funny hats will be provided.
