OPINION

Everyday
we have to deal with our many possessions in life. These can
be discernible objects, emotions attached to people, places
and things or simply the countless thoughts that we create
and then recreate in our minds on a regular clocklike basis.
Today most everyone lives in a house that is crammed full of
the necessities of life as well as innumerable knick knacks,
furniture, clothing, artwork and miscellaneous things that
we put on shelves, in drawers, closets, attics, garages or
storage units. Also a ton of our childhood stuff is still in
a corner somewhere at our parent’s.
When
we move or need to rearrange our lives we give away selected
items to charitable organizations who often call us in the
evening to make themselves available to our current overflow
status. At a certain spot along Gulf Road there regularly
appears items that are being given away to any passing motorist
who stops to make a claim. One can never be certain what
hidden treasures or worthwhile objects await us unless we
stop and make an evaluation of the contents in these bags
and boxes alongside the road. Today, rubber boots are for
the taking and even some free advice.
When
we reach out and embrace our neighbors we see pictures that
enhance everyday life in our own international community.
