The third
annual Town Picnic will be held Saturday, July 16 at Lighthouse
Park. Come & enjoy old-fashioned
games and contests, the re-enactment of a moment from the famous
picnic of 1908, and a concert by the Brass Belles. This event,
sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is free and open to
the public. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic lunch and join
in the festivities. Everyone is welcome.
Here’s a list of events already scheduled:
10 a.m.
Pie baking contest: Point Roberts seniors, (bring your pie
to the Orca Center to be judged) Flower arranging
contest: Friends of the Library, (bring your flowers to the
main Friends table to be judged).
From 11
a.m. – 2 p.m.: Hoop
Rolling Races: Nielson’s
Building Center
Horseshoes: Point Roberts Realty
Guessing Games: Friends of the Library
Marble demo & competition: Jim Linde
Egg and spoon race: Red Hat Society
Noon:

Watermelon Eating Contest: Point Roberts fire department
