Now kicking
back at Kick Back Ranch
Who would
have thought that in 1969 when we first bought in Point Roberts,
we would spend the first 25 years enjoying it as a resort property
and the next 10 years operating the B&B
and now as we leave our home of the past 10 years we shall be
returning to the Point once again as cabin dwellers. We have
come full cycle.
As we return
to Canada and make our new home base in Barriere, B.C. we have
many great memories to take with us. We could never really
leave the Point altogether, as it has become a part of us and
our children and their children. We will look forward to spending
many quality times in our new cabin that we have been building
on the Maple Beach side.
We have
entertained many guests from all over the world here at the
B&B. They came as strangers,
left as friends and many of them became neighbors. The Frantzs,
Tans, Fitzsimons, Ritchies, Lawrences, Proudfoots, Campbells,
just to name a few.
We have
been active in the community affairs, through the chamber,
the pioneer project with the clinic, the lighthouse society,
the garden tour, the skatepark and all in an endeavor to put
back into the community to help make the Point an even better
place.
Things change,
so do goals and priorities. It is time for us to carry on with
a new adventure. We have passed the torch of the B&B on
to the new owners who are wonderful people and with the attraction
of the added yoga studio, we are certain that Tom & Desiree
will be an asset to the community. We hope that you will provide
them the same support you have given us in the past. Thank
you all. It has been fabulous. We look forward to seeing either
here on our visits to the Point or at our new “Kick Back
Ranch” in Barriere, “the
fishing is great.”
