Water district
approves sewer plan
By Meg Olson
The Point
Roberts sewer plan was accepted by county council after a brief
public hearing, along with county planning recommendations
which included a preference for starting any sewer system with
large properties and the central core.
At their
December 7 meeting board members voted unanimously and with
no discussion to accept the plan, completed in July and already
approved by the state and the Point Roberts Water district
commissioners. District manager Dan Bourks was the only person
who spoke at the public hearing, said there is currently no
one petitioning for sewer service. Until they do, Bourks said,
the plan will remain inactive but will continue to be updated
as required by the state department of health.
