Famous
and loving it!

Point Roberts
has experienced another 15 minutes of fame.
A July article
in the Washington Post by John Pomfret was the first to hit
the stands and was syndicated throughout North America appearing
in the Vancouver Sun and the Boston Globe, among others.
The article followed an earlier one by Pomfret that examined
the co-operation taking place between U.S. and Canadian border
and law agencies.
Pomfret’s
article on the Point appeared bemused by the lack of border
infrastructure and featured a photo of a local Tsawwassen resident
whose garden extended onto the U.S. side of the border.
Pomfret’s
article was followed up by a Globe and Mail article written
by Gary Mason on August 12 that discussed the Point’s
appeal to residents despite the inconveniences of living
here. Since 9/11, Point Roberts has been featured in stories
or segments on the CBC Radio, NPR, National Geographic, Yoga
Journal, CNN as well as state and lower mainland media outlets.
