District works to open taps
The water district and commissioners appear to be making sure progress on the water shortage front – their only problem appears to be in communicating that fact.

Blue Heron van gets new lease on life
The Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) will partner with the Point Roberts parks department on a new contract for the local volunteer-run Blue Heron van service.

Wellness Clinic assets turned over to district
“I think we need to break out the champagne!” “I was expecting fireworks!” Such were the comments of commissioners and staff after the Point Roberts hospital district passed a resolution approving the transfer and receipt of Wellness Clinic’s assets from the fire district. Famous and loving it!
Point Roberts has experienced another 15 minutes of fame.

It was “Standing Room Only” at the eighth International Joke Telling Contest.

This story is a real dog

Take a hike, taxpayers say
About 60 supporters and advocates for the preservation of Lily Point – the still forested and undeveloped southern tip of Point Roberts – participated in a public awareness walk on Saturday, August 12.

Off to Cape Town, South Africa
Kitty Doyle, known for her watercolors of great blue herons and other depictions of Point Roberts, will soon have larger animals to portray. Animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes and more. That’s if she has any free time, that is.

Voters group ready to ramp it up
A re-invigorated Point Roberts Registered Voters Association board is ready to go with a number of projects designed to increase the group’s utility and visibility to voters on the Point. First up? A candidates night for the upcoming election.

Health Matters
I have decided to write on an issue that I feel I face almost every day. In short, it is the topic of elevation of one or more of the lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoproteins, low density lipoproteins and very low density lipoproteins).
