SHERIFF'S REPORT
November 11: An individual in the 400 block of Julius Drive
reported a large amount of mill ends (firewood) and some hand
tools stolen from her residence. Total loss valued at $100. The
case is being investigated.
November 10: An adult male reported
that an unknown subject pried open the lock on his garden shed
causing $10 worth of damage and stole a weed eater trimmer valued
at $170. There are no suspects at this time.
November 10: An individual
reported that $100 worth of lumber was stolen from the 1500 block
of Gulf Road. There was no suspect information.
November 7: A
WCSO deputy responded to a verbal domestic report in the 100
block of Drake Avenue. The deputy interviewed the reporting party
and determined there was no probable cause to believe that a
crime had been committed. Another individual involved could not
be located for an interview. There is no probable cause to make
an arrest at this time. No follow-up is required.
October 27:
An adult female reported that a $500 kayak had been stolen from
the yard of her vacation residence in the 2100 block of Cedar
Street. There are no suspects at this time.
October 26: A WCSO
deputy contacted an adult male on Regina Way who had a warrant
for his arrest out of Whatcom County district court for FTA/FTC
violation of a domestic violence protection order with a $3,000
bail. The subject refused to exit his residence and submit to
arrest. Additional deputies responded to the location for assistance.
After lengthy negotiations the subject freely exited his residence
and was arrested on the warrant. He was later transported to
the Whatcom County Jail via the U.S. Coast Guard.
October 13:
A WCSO deputy contacted an individual about a burglary in the
2100 block of Cedar Street. The individual had no suspect information.
October
9: A 22-year-old Surrey, B.C. man seeking entry into the U.S.
at the Point Roberts point of entry was detained by U.S. Border
Patrol officers on numerous arrest warrants. A WCSO deputy responded
and arrested the subject on the warrants. It was also determined
that the subject was driving on a suspended driver’s license
and was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
The subject was cited and released for DWLS/R 3rd and possession
of marijuana under 40 grams. He was, however, transported to
the WCSO jail on the warrants. The warrants were Whatcom County
district court FTA DWLS 3rd – $5,000;
Snohomish County district court FTA use of drug paraphernalia – $1,500;
FTA DUI/DWLS 3rd – $5,000; FTA possession of marijuana
and use of drug paraphernalia – $1,500; FTA obstructing – $2,500;
FTA DWLS 3rd – $1,500; Everett municipal court FTA DWLS
2nd – $1,000; FTA DWLS 2nd – $500; FTA possession
of marijuana – $500.
October 5: Whatcom County Fire District
#5 responded to the Point Roberts Marina for a reported boat
on fire. When they arrived they found several boats on fire
and put them out. The Delta, B.C. fire department also responded
to assist. By the time the fire was out five boats and a section
of the dock were substantially damaged by the fire. The fire
appears to have been caused when a build up of gas fumes were
ignited in the hull of one of the boats.
October 1: A WCSO deputy
responded to a report of theft of services in the 700 block
of Simundson Drive. An unknown subject who had recently purchased
a boat moored it in a guest slip without paying for the moorage.
The boat was chained by the business. However, the suspect
removed the chain and fled without paying. The identity of the
subject is unknown. The subject who sold the boat would not provide
the buyers information. It was learned that the suspect lives
in Canada and the boat is currently in Canada as well.
September
28: A deputy stopped a speeding vehicle in the 300 block of
Boundary Bay Road. As a result of the traffic stop the deputy
arrested the 39-year-old man from Salmon Arm, B.C. for DUI. The
driver was processed for DUI, cited and later released from custody.
