Candidate
says: Vote for opponent
The candidate on the ballot for a position on the hospital
district board is encouraging a vote for the candidate that isn’t.
“I think I’m going to bow out and let Robin Nault
do that,” said Lawrence Wheeler, the only candidate who
filed in time to appear on the ballot for the November election.
Nault is officially registered as a write-in candidate and voters
will need to write her name in the space provided under Wheeler’s
and then vote for her by connecting the arrows adjacent to her
name.
Wheeler is a pipe fitter and plumber who travels extensively
for work. He indicated he was interested in public office but
this was perhaps not the right time. “She’ll be able
to do a better job, being in town all the time,” he said.
