The International Boundary Commission will be changing the railings on the recently revamped boundary markers after they turned into a fatal perch for cormorants.

Local boater Steve Watts said he noticed cormorants trapped in the railing and dying last summer and called local border agencies, police and state wildlife officials. The IBC have promised a permanent solution.
