McClusky will be looking for a spot on the Blaine school board,
hoping to give the Point a stronger voice.
“We
need to insure our children have the same services as a child
in Blaine has,” McClusky said. “The Point
needs representation.”
“A
background in U.S. foreign assistance projects, including education,
will bring valuable skills to the school board,” McClusky
said “I have a long interest in public education and
how it can be improved to the further development of the
child. I think we need to see more dialogue between the adult
world and the child world. The children should be better
represented in the decisions that effect their education.”
Maintaining
service levels and resources at the local primary school
is a strong focus for McClusky. “We have this school
and we don’t want them to make it smaller,” he
said. He also wants to insure Point Roberts children who
attend the Blaine campus have the same opportunities other
students have, and hopes to address transportation issues
for after-school activities.
