Beyond bad...

Desmone Bastian, a U.S. border guard accused of accepting free sex from a Canadian prostitute in return for allowing her to enter the U.S. with loads of marijuana was found guilty of accepting a bribe in Seattle federal court last month. Bastian, 31, was arrested in 2006 after Sandra Maas was arrested by other inspectors for smuggling oxycodone pills in her underwear.

The jury was unable to come to a decision on three other charges and acquitted him on a charge of aiding and abetting the importation of marijuana. The guard denied accepting free sex but admitted paying the prostitute $150 on two occasions for sex. He claimed the reason he told her in advance which lanes he was working in was so he could see her, not to facilitate drug smuggling.
