Flea market to support local WWU student

Local student Tiffany Range is organizing a flea market and silent auction to help fund a three-month internship in Greece as part of her environmental planning studies at Western Washington University.

On March 8 Range will host the “Flea Market for the Future” at the Gulf Road community center from 1 to 6 p.m.

The event is part garage sale, part bake sale and part silent auction. Auction items include a cruise and several pieces of furniture donated for the event. Donations of auction items can be dropped off at McFrugals, the new Tyee Drive location of what was formerly Captain Bob’s Emporium.

The program Range hopes to participate in is located on the island of Kefalonia. The multi-disciplinary program focuses on sustainable community design through student led projects and coursework.
