Since the annual general meeting in March several ideas for improving conditions at Point Roberts have been developed. This is a result of a broad cross section of new directors.

The association continues to follow the directions set by the membership. One of the methods is to bring in speakers or consultants to advise/educate the membership regarding subjects of interest. Examples include the presentations of options of sewer processing systems and the proposed race track.

A successful candidates night was held in October. A large number of voters attended to listen and question the candidates. The candidates praised Point Roberts voters and stated, per capita, they were the largest turn-out of all communities in the county.

In addition we are discussing with several insurance providers the possibility of a medical plan to be made available to members.

Also, meetings are being scheduled with Whidbey Telephone Company to discuss either the elimination or reduction of all long distance charges within the county.

The association continues to invite voters suggestions and idea to improve our communitys way of life.

The directors wish all members a Happy New Year.
