If you�re wondering why you see so many Scouts wandering around the Point during the last weekend in March, the explanation is simple. It�s the second annual Mini International Scout Jamboree which is scheduled to be held March 28-30 at Lighthouse Marine Park. While exactly how many troops and individual scouts will attend isn�t known, there�s room for up to 600 of them.

Organized and hosted by the 12th Central Surrey Troop, scouts from B.C. and Washington and perhaps further afield will have the opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills. And when they leave, they�ll leave the Point a little better, too.

In lieu of paying for camping, the scouts will be doing a cleanup of Lighthouse Park in order to ready it for its opening weekend the following week. As well, they�ll continue working on their trail project begun last year. This time they�ll be helping construct the new marina trail that leads from Tyee Drive and APA Road behind the lagoon to the park.
