Dollars for Scholars to be given away

Awards Night, a program of scholarship presentations sponsored by the Dollars for Scholars, will be held at the community center at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15. Point Roberts students are the focal point of this event. DFS scholarships will be awarded to 10 applicants: high school graduates Tessa Cogman, Carly Hubbard, Simran Kang and Jessica Teng; college students Celeste Fraser, Wes Hubbard, Rhyan Lopez, Kyle Teutsch and Neal Teutsch; and an adult returning to school Candy Downs.

In addition, the following scholarships will be presented: the “Evergreen Award,” for engineering; the David Ashton Scholarship for music or business; the Whidbey Telephone award for technology; and the Delta Cable Vision Scholarship for the study of performing or graphic arts, journalism, communications or electronics.

The public is invited to come and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students. Refreshments will be served.
