School meetings set

The Blaine school district superintendent, Dr. Mary Lynne Derrington and the Point Roberts/Blaine primary school principal, Nancy Bakarich will participate in monthly meetings with the Point Roberts community. Originally this was to be an advisory group, but few applicants expressed interest. Therefore, there will be an open meeting for those interested in participating with specific agenda topics.

The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 18 at 1:30 p.m., at Point Roberts primary school following early student dismissal for conferences. The topic of the first meeting is the role of the school board. Present at the meeting will be the superintendent, principal, and Red Goodwin, the school board member living in the director district, which includes Point Roberts. In addition, participants will be asked to identify potential future meeting topics, dates and times of meetings.
