Small businesses to get water break
Who says you can’t catch a break? Not the 25 or so small businesses who will benefit from a new water district policy that will impose the same rates on small business users as those placed on residential users. Consequently, those businesses will see a rate decrease of nine dollars a month.
To qualify, users must not use more than the standard home allowance of 1200 cubic feet per month on an annual basis. “This is an attempt at rate equity, a move towards cost-based revenue,” said water commissioner Art Wilkowski.
In other district news, commissioners have agreed to change their meeting dates to the second Thursday of the month to avoid the current conflict with the fire district and the voters association.
