Dozens gathered at the community center for an August 18 open house hosted by the Point Roberts Historical Society to unveil their latest exhibit, “First Families of Point Roberts.” The exhibit, which hangs in the small meeting room at the Point Roberts community center, can be seen when the local senior center is open on Wednesdays and Fridays. In addition to telling the story of the families who settled the Point the exhibit is playing an important research role for the society. It includes the genealogical information currently available with room to add new information. “If you have any genealogical information please add it to the chart,” said society president Kitty Doyle. “It’s interesting to see it come together. We have people on the Point who can trace their ancestry back to these settlers.”
