Jana Walker of Ladner and Point Roberts has recently opened The Blue Door Interiors in Ladner Village.

After 31 years of interior home design she decided she wanted to spend the week in Ladner and weekends in Point Roberts. “The Point is a soulful place where I get grounded and can regroup,” she added.

She says her goal for Blue Door Interiors is to help clients achieve a casual elegance in their homes. Whatever it is, it must be comfortable. “All my chairs go through my ‘sit’ test,” Walker said. “I can source anything – just ask me because I’ve been doing it for so long.” A cruise through the shop proves that – it is full of antiques and finds from around the world.

Why open a retail store after so long? “This is my passion and always has been. And we need to be open to the possibility of reinventing ourselves at any time of our lives. I am a ‘possibilitarian,’” she said.

The Blue Door Interiors is at the northwest corner of Ladner Trunk Road and Arthur Drive.
