On August 29 a busload of visitors from Iceland, members of the Canadian Club of Iceland, were guests of the local historical society for a tour of the local cemetery and refreshments at Trinity Lutheran Church, where they shared stories and memorabilia about the Point's Icelandic heritage.

Almar Grimsson, leader of the group, said it was their third visit to North America in as many years. "We are systematically visiting Icelandic Settlements in North America, rolling in the footsteps," he said. They started in Seattle, moved north to Blaine and Point Roberts, and will now make their way to Victoria, Vancouver and on through the Rockies before heading home.
