SHERIFF'S REPORT
December 12: A WCSO deputy responded to the U.S. border station to assist U.S. border officers with an 18-year-old New Westminster resident found to be in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana while attempting to enter the US at the Point Roberts port of entry. He was arrested and later released with a court date to appear before the Whatcom District Court.
December 14: A 48-year-old Point Roberts woman was charged with 4th degree assault after an incident that took place on the 400 block of Tyee Drive.
December 15: A WCSO deputy contacted a subject at the 400 block of Tyee Drive and advised him that he has been trespassed from that location and that if he went back there he could be arrested for trespassing.
December 19: The sheriff’s office responded to assist U.S. customs with a vehicle that ran through the port of entry without reporting. Deputies located the vehicle at Tyee Drive and APA Road after it was involved in a one-vehicle rollover accident. The driver fled to Canada and was detained by Canadian customs. No information on his identity was released. The vehicle was impounded and the investigation is ongoing.
December 20: A 25-year-old Point Roberts woman was arrested after deputies responded to a physical domestic complaint in the 100 block of Quebec Avenue. The suspect was transported to Bellingham via boat and booked into the Whatcom County Jail on charges of assault 4 domestic violence.
December 20: A deputy responded to a burglary at the 1300 block of Gulf Road. Three juveniles males were responsible for the burglary. Two were located and arrested. They were booked into Whatcom County juvenile detention. The third suspect is still being identified and sought.
December 24: The WCSO received several reports of a man in the area of Gulf Road and Marine Drive shouting at vehicles and obstructing traffic. One driver stated that the subject screamed at her as she passed him and when she drove past him a second time he jumped out in front of her vehicle, screaming and shaking his fist. Deputies located the 50-year-old male subject and he was arrested and booked at the Whatcom County Jail on disorderly conduct charges.
December 31: WCSO responded to a disturbance at a grocery store at 400 block of Tyee Drive. A 50-year-old male with mental health issues was shouting at customers and refusing to leave. Deputies arrived and located the subject who was trespassed from the property. He was taken into custody and booked in the Whatcom County Jail for criminal trespass.
January 12: A Canadian man opened an account with a bank at the 400 block of Tyee Drive with a fraudulent check and withdrew money prior to the bank finding out the check was no good. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
January 15: Deputies contacted a suspect for a traffic violation. During that contact it was discovered the driver had purchased the vehicle over 11 months ago and never transferred the title into his name. The case has been sent to the prosecutor for possible charges.
January 17: Deputies responded to the 2100 block of Deer Lane for a reported disturbance. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the 43-year-old male living there was arguing with another family member and had damaged items in the residence. He was arrested for malicious mischief 3rd degree domestic violence. He was transported via the U.S. Coast Guard and booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
January 19: A female victim called WCSO to report that her adult male son had threatened to kill her and her husband and burn down their residence. The male suspect fled the 2100 block of Wicklow Place after the incident and probable cause has been issued for his arrest. An investigation is ongoing.
