Affordable Care Act open enrollment ends Sunday, August 15

Healthcare system PeaceHealth is reminding community members that the federal government created a special enrollment period for enrolling or changing their 2021 Affordable Care Act plan. The enrollment period began in February and is set to run until Sunday, August 15.

The American Rescue Plan Act included the special enrollment period as a way to expand access to low-cost healthcare. This will allow people to obtain lower healthcare coverage costs.

“Healthcare coverage through the Affordable Care Act allows many people in our community access to critical health care services,” PeaceHealth Northwest chief executive Charles Prosper said in a statement. “Now is the time to act if you think you may be eligible or are already enrolled and interested in changing plans.”

PeaceHealth is a healthcare company with hospitals across the Pacific Northwest, including PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.
