Summer is in full swing and fun is in the air! What a joy to be able to celebrate this glorious season in such a wonderful piece of God’s green Earth, where the great water touches the great land (or at least our tiny piece of it), and the tilt of the earth stretches the days to near endless. And that other solstice? We won’t even think about that.

Throughout the month of June, the Point comes to life in many different ways, in gardens and pubs, cottages and restaurant decks. By July, the season of relaxation and enjoyment is upon us.

In whatever capacity you join the Point Roberts summer holiday community, plan to spend a Sunday morning at Trinity for spiritual uplift, welcoming, caring company and always, delicious goodies. Childcare is provided.

Trinity is in summer mode as well, with public events to enjoy and space to make your own events special. This month our concert series continues with an evening of Summer Jazz.

Our youth continue to meet for socializing and philosophizing. You can enhance your summer relaxation with a session of Healing Touch in our healing space. We also have space for family events.

Our community room includes space for 40 (seated) to 80 (standing) people and a kitchen for your use. Perfect for family gatherings, weddings, anniversaries and birthdays, meetings and classes. You can contact our church manager Louise to arrange to a space rental.

Regular Events

Sunday Worship is at 11 a.m., followed by coffee fellowship, including homemade goodies, lots of laughter and conversation.

Knee Club meets on Wednesdays, 10:30–11:30 a.m. This is a gentle stretch and strengthen class. You can contact Shirley Cannon for more information.

Healing Touch with Pastor Gina on Sunday, July 2, between 1:30 and 4 p.m. in the Healing Space. If you would like to book a private session, (evenings are best), you can contact Gina at touchtoheal828@gmail.com.

Philosopher’s Cafe meets on Sunday, July 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the community room. Youth ages 15 to 20 are invited for homemade goodies, beverages, fellowship and interesting conversation. No philosophy experience necessary!

Special Events - July

An Evening of Summer Jazz featuring Alexander Fetherstonehaugh and Company. Saturday, July 8, 5:30 p.m. This ensemble is the “crème de la crème” of Ladner’s jazz music school. Capping a weeklong summer jazz camp, this group follows their camp concert performance with an encore concert at Trinity, to benefit our own summer music camp. What better way to enjoy a warm summer’s Pt. Bob evening?

Children’s Music Camp runs July 29 to August 5, concluding with a live performance on the church lawn in lieu of Sunday service on Sunday, August 5 at 11 a.m. The camp runs the entire week, and is open to children age 7 to 12.

Prepared to be amazed, as the children will, in the course of five days, (plus a dress rehearsal on Saturday), learn music and choreography for a fully costumed and set-designed musical production.

Contact director Natasha Neufeld (natashaneufeld@gmail.com)for more information and to register.
