Former school psychologist pleads guilty to possession of child porn

William Brook, the former Point Roberts resident and Delta school psychologist accused of possessing and distributing child pornography has changed his plea to guilty in exchange for the possibility of less jail time.

Brook entered the plea in U.S. District Court on December 1, 2014 and is scheduled for sentencing on February 27.

According to Emily Langlie with the U.S. Attorney’s office, under a plea agreement the government will recommend a sentence no longer than 72 months and lifetime supervised release. The statutory penalty for the two felony charges Brook faces is up to 20 years.

Department of Homeland Security agents arrested Brook at his home on Benson Road in Point Roberts in May 2014 following an investigation. Approximately 334 files of suspected child pornography were found on his computer and an additional 3.74 gigabytes of material was found on a thumb drive depicting children in sexual situations and child rape. Brook has not lived in Point Roberts since the time of his arrest, and he is restricted from traveling north of Bellingham.
