The Party on the Point raised more than $10,000 dollars to support the legal battle to fight an application to build a radio tower farm at Point Roberts’ P1010184entrance.

“This will cover more than a quarter of our legal bills,” said event organizer Armene Belless. “It was an amazing party that was lots of fun, too.”

On November 29, several hundred people came out to listen to Tony Barton and Friends. The event also featured a 50/50 draw, a silent auction and raffle.

The Cross Border Coalition to Stop the Towers continues to oppose an application by BBC Broadcasting to build five radio towers in Point Roberts. The Whatcom County Hearing Examiner has denied the application but BBC Broadcasting is appealing the decision to Whatcom County Council.
