Vaccinations to resume this Saturday

Posted

The local fire and hospital districts will resume Covid-19 vaccinations this coming Saturday from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Benson Road firehall. Anyone 18 years old and older is eligible for the vaccine. The districts have received 200 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine which, unlike the Moderna vaccine, is a one-shot regime.

Fire chief Christopher Carleton has been calling residents who have expressed a desire to be vaccinated and, as of today, has made appointments for 166 people for Saturday. In a number of calls that he’s made, there has been either no answer or the message machine was full. If you have already asked to be put on the vaccination list and haven’t heard from the chief, he asks you to call him at 360/945-FIRE (3473) and leave a message. If you haven’t already asked to be put on the list and are 18 years old or older, call to let him know that you’d like to be vaccinated.

In order to be vaccinated, individuals must have an appointment and fill out a form that will be emailed before the Saturday event. To date, there have been 271 people on the Point who have received both doses of the Moderna vaccine and 211 who have received the first dose.
