Circle of Care AGM coming up

Posted

By Annelle Norman

Are you curious about what Circle of Care has accomplished in the last year, how many clients are being served, how the shuttle bus program is doing, want to know about volunteering or have any questions or suggestions for this year’s priorities?

If so, you are invited to attend the 2019 annual general meeting (AGM) at the community center on Sunday, April 5 at 2 p.m. Members of the community who would like to become active members of Circle of Care are invited to join. Membership dues are $10 per year. Your input, insight and suggestions are always welcome. After a short business meeting and presentation by board chair Chris Cameron, guest speakers will be introduced.

Fire chief Christopher Carlton will inform attendees about the Point Roberts Community Resource Network, a group of local care-providing agencies that meet to collaborate and to lobby state and county agencies for the improvement of services rendered to Point Roberts residents. He will also update us on the C.A.R.E.S. program.

Heather Kenning is with the community programs team at Northwest Regional Council and will speak about the importance of advance care planning.

The Circle of Care wheelchair accessible bus provides rides on Thursdays each week for residents going to medical appointments in Blaine, Ferndale and Bellingham. To inquire or book a ride, please contact Circle of Care at 360/945-5222 or at prcircleofcare@gmail.com.

For more information about services provided by Circle of Care, please check out the website at prcircleofcare.com or leave a message on 360/945-5222.
