The Point Roberts Community Advisory Committee (PRCAC) met on July 23 with members of the character plan review committee to begin reviewing the proposed draft of the revised plan.

Once the revisions are completed, the plan will be forwarded to the county which will begin their review of the draft plan in early 2017.

The meeting and the planned followup meeting are addressing proposed changes to the plan’s architectural guidelines. The July 23 discussion  focused on the referenced styles the draft plan sees as acceptable in the Small Town Commercial zone: Craftsman, Marine and West Coast Modern. On Saturday, August 6 from 10 a.m. until noon the committee will continue to work through specific architectural

design criteria.

“We’re not looking at anything to do with signage,” said PRCAC chair Joel Lantz. “We’ll continue to look at architectural guidelines.”
